DUMBO

Early morning along the waterfront in front of Sugarcane Bar & Grill, looking west towards the Brooklyn Bridge

DUMBO has one of the highest density of spectacular photo locations packed into a small area. With its location in Brooklyn along the waterfront, it has dramatic views of both the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridge, as well as the Manhattan skyline. If you venture away from the water, you’ll find old industrial buildings that are now luxury apartments and offices, which can provide a great foreground for framing the bridges and skyline. Not only is it a photogenic area, but it’s also pleasant to explore because of its waterfront shops and restaurants. If you need a break from all the walking, I recommend checking out Empire Stores or heading to 1 Brooklyn Bridge Hotel’s chic lobby.

Early morning at the intersection of Washington & Water Street
This classic shot of the Manhattan Bridge framed between the buildings on Washington Street has quickly become one of the most famous photography spots in New York. On any given day, you’ll find dozens of people in the middle of the road capturing this view in spite of exasperated local drivers. If you’re looking to get a photo of this without any people, I would recommend coming here early in the morning around sunrise.
