The High Line is one of New York’s most innovative new parks. Built upon an old elevated train line, it gives visitors the ability to get off street level and get unique views of the city, while being immersed in lush vegetation. It is a great location for seeing modern architecture which has exploded in the area after the opening of the park. Additionally, with the completion of Hudson Yards’s jaw-dropping centerpiece, The Vessel, there is even more of a reason to visit. It is free to go up into the Vessel, however you will normally need to reserve a time. I would suggest going during twilight, as it is even more impressive lit up at night.
